Rockstar Support says GTA VI preload begins at local midnight on November 12, 2026. Preloading prepares the files; the announced game release remains November 19.
Download-time calculator
Enter the size shown by your console. A confirmed GTA VI size is not preset here.
Calculation: GB × 8000 ÷ Mbps. Network overhead, file verification and updates add time.
Start from the game in your library
Sign in to the account that owns the game, open the library entry and check its download options. For a boxed code, redeem it first. If the game does not appear, check your receipt, platform and code activation result before looking for another download.
The local-midnight statement is about preload. Do not reuse that hour as a confirmed launch-time countdown. The library and the current official notice should guide the next step for your account.
Use the console’s required-space notice
We have not verified a final install size in the sources used for this guide. Check the space requested by the console at download time. Leave room for the console’s update process and other games you intend to keep.
Remove or move games only after checking their saves and the storage options supported by your console. A storage device’s headline capacity does not establish that it can run a particular console game. If space is tight, our setup guide explains the compatibility checks before buying storage.
Estimate a download from your own connection
Use a sustained download speed, not just the maximum on your internet plan. The calculator below accepts the size shown by your console and gives an ideal transfer estimate. Real downloads can take longer because of server load, Wi-Fi, verification and other network use.
If the queue stalls, inspect the console’s connection and available space first. Follow the platform’s own troubleshooting before deleting a large partial download. GTASpots never needs your platform password to help you read this checklist.
